Kristin Halliday

Kristin Halliday is an award winning lyric soprano
originally from Potomac,
Maryland. She has performed
extensively in the Washington Metropolitan area, nationally and
internationally, appearing in concert and recital. She sang at the Altenburg
Music Festival in Germany
and was featured in recital with the country's premier clarinettist and leading
visual artist, in Hafnarfjordur,
Iceland.
Kristin has been noted for her “uncommon voice of great beauty,” and “is an
exceptionally moving interpreter of almost all kinds of music.” Kristin was a
recipient of the Peggy and Yale Gordon Award in the Rosa
Ponselle Competition and advanced in both the Marjorie Lawrence and the
Freiderich Schorr Competitions. She most recently was a winner of
the 2007 Gretchen Hood Vocal Competition.
Kristin studied
voice and pedagogy with world renowned, Betti McDonald in New York. She
received the highest certification from the
Insitute for Musical Arts to
teach voice and vocal pedagogy. Kristin Halliday is the founder
of the
Academy for the Performing Arts, providing professional training in
voice and theatre with a studio of over 30 private voice students
in Potomac, Maryland.
